The coordinator and the two partners in the Erasmus+ sport project: “InnoSkills through Sport” [621999-EPP-1-2020-1-BG-SPO-SSCP] conducted a 3-day event, dedicated to the European Week of Sport 2022, between 28th and 30th of September in Bankya and Ivanyane, Sofia, Bulgaria. The event included sport competitions games and a Round table, intituled: “S-P-O-R-T: Social Participation Opportunities Realized by Teenagers”.

The 15 participants- 5 from Association “Sport Club Comac Sport”, Sofia, Bulgaria; 5 from Salas vidusskola – Sala, Latvia and 5 from the Association for Macedonian-Bulgarian Friendship” (AMBF) – Bitola, Republic of North Macedonia (RNM), took part in this event by having discussions on Education through Sport [ETS], the project intellectual outputs and the skills of the future. For better mutual understanding the first part of the event was for all participants on the round table to share good practices and examples on how much impact the sport brings them as a tool for personal, educational and professional development. Another important aspect of their discussion was the importance of the so called transversal skills acquired through sport for the health and wellbeing of young people.

The program continued with interactive presentation related to the Handbook ,,Innoskills Through Sport “ . Panel discussions were held on the development of both EntreComp skills and  skills of the future among youth, practical examples and guidelines to assist teachers, trainers and coaches in building those skills through sport in teenagers.

The new methodology elaborated within the project is aimed at matching the 15 key EntreComp competences with the skills of the future through ETS. The 15 EntreComp competences that, together, make up the building blocks of the entrepreneurship as a competence for all citizens are: 1. Spotting opportunities; 2. Creativity; 3. Vision; 4. Valuing ideas; 5. Ethical and sustainable thinking; 6. Self-awareness and self-efficacy; 7. Motivation and perseverance; 8. Mobilizing resources; 9. Financial and economic literacy; 10. Mobilizing and inspiring others; 11. Taking the initiative; 12. Planning and management; 13. Coping with uncertainty, ambiguity and risk; 14. Working with others; and 15. Learning through experience.

By implementing the education through sport approach [ETS] it was found a fun way to incorporate the variety of sports by playing games and filming video tutorials for  teenage students and also teachers, coaches and youth workers.

Eventually, the educational video will be finalized by the IT specialist involved in the project, and uploaded on the educational online platform. They will feature the inspiring examples of the young students, teachers, coaches and youth workers that will highlight the importance of sports for their careers.

In the period of 2-4th May 2022, 3-day event was held in the town of Sala, Latvia, within the project: “InnoSkills through Sport” № 621999-EPP-1-2020-1-BG-SPO-SSCP, co-financed under the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

15 participants from 3 project partners took part in the event: 5 from Sport Club “Comac Sport”, 5 from Salas vidusskola school, Sala, Latvia and 5 from Association for Macedonian-Bulgarian Friendship, Bitola, Republic of North Macedonia.

The main purpose of the 3-day event was to discuss the implementation of ETS (and more specifically: entrepreneurial skills of the future education through sport) in the formal and informal educational programs, aimed at building entrepreneurial thinking among young people in the light of the so-called “Industry 4.0”.

During the event, class activities at the Salas vidusskola school were held, in connection with differentiation and individualization of the learning process to support the different needs and level of competence of students and outdoor sports activities supported by the Latvian Olympic Committee.

“The visit to Latvia inspired and encouraged us to continue working together to create the next generation of European leaders and entrepreneurs, through innovative inter-site connections and techniques. Once again, we have made sure that sport is not only a means of developing physical qualities, but also a method of creating the personality characteristics, cognitive processes, emotional and social competence that are so necessary for Europe’s progress in tomorrow. We return motivated to encourage our students to develop constructively and fully through sport”, commented Ms. Konstantina Niesheva- sports manager and project coordinator of the “InnoSkills through Sport” project.

The 3 partners in the Erasmus+ project “INNOSKILLS THROUGH SPORT“ [621999-EPP-1-2020-1-BG-SPO-SSCP] conducted a summer kick off meeting between 28-30 July 2021 in Bitola, Republic of North Macedonia.

The three – day event was a kind of international partner workshop on: “Promoting entrepreneurial and skills of the future development through sport”.

The 15 participants from Association “Sport Club Comac Sport”, Bulgaria, “Salas vidusskola”, Latvia, and “Sdruzenie za makedonsko-balgarsko prijatelstvo”[ “Association for Macedonian-Bulgarian Friendship”], Republic of North Macedonia met in Bitola, North Macedonia to exchange good practices and methods [formal and non-formal] for developing entrepreneurial transversal skill among teenagers by implementing a variety of educational approaches, including  ETS.

The event was divided into different panel sessions on: organizational, analytical and practical aspects of the project concept.

Representatives from NGO sector joined the sessions to reveal more practices on working with youth by focusing on entrepreneurship as a transversal skill according to EntreComp framework of the European Commission. They also shared their specific experience in working with schools and other educational institutions in implementing different sports activities among pupils and youth, in order to acquire healthy and sports life-skills.

The international partner workshop covered a wide range of panel discussions, presentations and exchange of positive practices from the three countries which share a common past behind the “Iron Curtain” and face similar challenges related to the creation of a strong sense of entrepreneurship and initiative in youth.

15 participants took part in the event to exchange multicultural experiences and discuss activities, revealing sport as a tool for education and skills development as well as various organizational forms that provoke interest and participation of young people in sporting events.

The participants also discussed how social, educational and health functions of sport can be used to form the personality of young people and encourage physical activity at all levels of education from an early age, putting a special emphasis on entrepreneurship and skills of the future.

The three main speakers from Republic of North Macedonia, Marija Kotevska, Kire Grbevski and Vlatko Grozdanovski, sports teachers from secondary schools and also non-formal sports education trainers, shared facts about their work and challenges. They emphasized on sport as a tool for entrepreneurial and transversal skills development as well as for promoting social inclusion and European values & principles, such as solidarity, equality, respect of the diversity and social status and inclusiveness of the different nationalities.

In conclusion the event was a great opportunity for the representatives of the partner organizations to exchange good practices and expertise in light of skills formation among youth, using various sports activities. Sports was also discussed with regard to its potential to be instrument for education and to promote social inclusion.

The international workshop helped participants to realize people-to-people connectivity as well as to experience a great multicultural event program.

On 18 June 2021, the project team of the Erasmus+ project “INNOSKILLS THROUGH SPORT” [621999-EPP-1-2020-1-BG-SPO-SSCP]  held its first online conference. The consortium consists of Association “Sport Club Comac Sport”, Bulgaria, “Association for Macedonian-Bulgarian Friendship“, Republic of North Macedonia (AMBF), and Secondary School – Salas Vidusskola, Latvia.

The aim of the conference was to discuss how sport could be used as a tool for education and skills development, as well as various organizational forms that provoke interest and participation of young people in sporting events.  The three partners presented a number of good examples for ETS tools for skill development in the 3 countries. The participants from “Association for Macedonian-Bulgarian Friendship“ shared their experience how youth could be more actively involved in physical activities  More specifically how social, educational and health functions of sport ca be used to form the personality of young people and encourage physical activity at all levels of education from an early age, putting a special emphasis on entrepreneurship and skills of the future. The partners also discussed challenges and opportunities for young people and sport during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

A special attention was devoted to the subtopics

  • Matching entrepreneurial skills and skills of the future;
  • Sport as a means of personal, educational and professional development.

The parties also discussed the potential dates and content of the next project meeting which is planned to take place in July 2021 in Bitola, Republic of North Macedonia.

Project partners of the Erasmus+ project “INNOSKILLS THROUGH SPORT” [621999-EPP-1-2020-1-BG-SPO-SSCP] are planning to launch an online conference on 18 of June. The topics will focus on the key next steps in developing the project Handbook. The content of the handbook is planned to cover project’s new methodology, practical examples and guidelines to assist teachers, trainers and coaches in building entrepreneurial skills and skills for the future through sport in teenagers. The project partners will further debate how sport can be used as a tool for education and skills development, as well as various organizational forms that provoke interest and participation of young people in sporting events. Participants from Association “Sport Club Comac Sport”, Bulgaria, “Association for Macedonian-Bulgarian Friendship”, Republic оf North Macedonia and Secondary School – Salas Vidusskola, Latvia will be joining the discussions.
